This is a special message from the Flemington Borough Office of Emergency Management. We are pleased to announce that the Boil Water Advisory for Flemington Borough has been officially lifted as of this evening, Friday, January 17th. Following comprehensive water quality testing conducted in accordance with New Jersey Department of Environmental Protection (NJDEP) protocols, all samples have been deemed safe for consumption.
NJDEP Guidance for Post-Advisory Protocols:
Residents are encouraged to take the following steps to ensure water safety and quality in their homes:
Flush Household Plumbing:
Run all cold water faucets for at least five minutes.
Begin with the highest faucet in your home and work your way down.
Flush Appliances and Equipment:
Clear automatic ice makers by discarding the first three batches of ice.
Run water softeners through a regeneration cycle.
Flush refrigerator water dispensers for at least five minutes.
Replace Filters:
Change or clean filters in water treatment devices, including refrigerator and under-sink filters, according to the manufacturer’s instructions.
A reverse 9-1-1 alert has been issued to notify residents of this lift advisory. However, we encourage you to communicate with your neighbors to ensure they are aware of the updated status, especially if they are not registered to receive these alerts.
