Trash & Recycling Overview

The Borough of Flemington provides trash and single stream recycling within the borough, paid for by borough taxes. Please be aware of the recycling restrictions, as described in this What's Actually Recyclable flyer or see the complete recycling ordinance for more information.

In order to guarantee pick up, please have containers placed at the curb no later than 7:00 A.M. on collection day.

For personalized guidance and reminders, use the 'Recycling Coach' on this page. Enter your address to view your schedule and sign up for reminders.

Additionally, leaves and yard waste is collected by the Flemington Borough Department of Public Works on a periodic basis, depending on weather conditions and other borough needs. Visit the Public Works page for more information.

  • Bulk collections are 4 times a year. For that pickup residents can put out up to 4 bulk items, and each item must have a sticker on it. Stickers are on sale at Borough Hall; a packet of 4 costs $40.
  • Thursday is garbage day. Residents should continue to put their trash out in garbage bags or cans. New wheeled garbage totes and recycling totes are on order but until they are delivered to you, please continue to use the disposal method you’ve been using.
